As one of only 2 engineers at the company, my responsibilities cover the full product development cycle from product ideation prototyping to post production quality reviews. Some things I've gotten quite familiar with:

• International Toy Safety Testing Standards: We test all of our products in house throughout development and production to exceed all international toy safety standards. All products are additionally verified at at third party labs before production.

• Designing for High Volume Assembly: Toys are a particularly interesting for their hit driven nature which means designing a high amount of unique parts each year that are initially assembled manually. However, in the event of a hit, the design must have features that can allow for semi-automatic assembly or even full automation.

• Rapid Prototyping to Production: Engineering often has less than 3 weeks to turn around production ready designs for up to 20 unique assemblies with varying complexities in function.

• Data Management: With close to no technical knowledge at the company outside of the Engineering team, I've been responsible for setting up and maintaining procedures, documents, and custom software to keep production moving smoothly.

• Reliability and Statistical Testing: Constantly short on hands, I build as many devices and software as possible to make it possible to continually test production pieces.

• Contract Manufacturer Management: Managing manufacturer relationships with my conversationally fluent in Mandarin
